Scones
Last weekend I spent a lovely weekend in Suffolk with my sister and her family. John was charged with taking our nephew out for brunch whilst my sister and I shopped (he was very happy to oblige!!). Being the kind soul that he is he brought us back some lovely homemade scones from the tea shop.
I duly warmed these and served them with jam, so next day after spending a cold foggy hour on the touchline watching the aforementioned nephew, we returned to the tea shop.
The owner asked me how the scones were that John had bought the day before - I told her they were served warm and were excellent! She remarked “that is how they are best served”.
Anyhow, now placing my order – for a cup of tea and a scone, I was duly served with…… a cold scone!
Don’t really think she was listening to the customer!
Oh dear!
